The fact that this allows any player to basically become a god from the comfort of their living rooms is impressive enough as it is, but the sheer amount of freedom that a player is afforded in these games is nothing to scoff at. The Sims series has grown over these past 17 years to become one of the most well-known PC games of all time, and it's no wonder why it holds the distinguished honor of being one of the most played games ever.
